   FOR STUDENTS

Poplar Bluff Junior High School

   September 30 thru October 4, 2019

WELCOME

Welcome back!  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. It’s going to be hot again this week!

Congratulations

Congratulations to Hansbrough House for winning the first House Party!  They had the most points at mid-term. Looking at our current leaderboard, House Bloodworth is currently in the lead!  Remember the semester party is based on a cumulative number of points from August-December.

Fields of Faith

Fields of Faith  will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. at the High School Stadium.

Mule Backpack Program

Our district sends home 150 backpacks twice a month to students who need food. Each school is asked to participate  This month and October JH is collecting canned meat (tuna, chicken and potted meat).  At the end of October, we will see who is in the lead and award a pizza party and house points for the winners.

Yearbook Sales

Order your yearbook!  They go on sale October 1st and are $25 if you order now! The price does go up.

Morning Procedures

Just a reminder that students may only use the stairs that come up by the counselor’s office and the gym in the mornings.  Those stairs are to be used by breakfast students and students going to the library. All other stairways are off limits.

WASHINGTON DC TRIP

The deadline to register for the Washington DC Trip has been extended until November 1, 2019.. If any 8th grader  is still interested in going, contact Mrs. Moncier in Room 207.

Dungeons and Dragons Quest

Community Service Learning is putting on a Dungeons and Dragons Quest to raise money. All proceeds will go to the Gospel Rescue Mission. Tickets to this week-long event will be sold from October 1- October 3 before school or in Mrs. Moon's room, Room 123.

The cost is $5 to play or $10 for a "god-like power" (a powerful ability).

The game will go on from October 7-11 from 3:00-4:30. You will need to create your character before you come!

Pumpkin Painting in Labs

Each academic lab will pain a pumpkin. These are due by Oct. 22.  We will have a penny war during lunch shifts from the 23-30. The pumpkin that wins will get all the money raised donated to their charity!  Get started painting! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
