 WELCOME

Welcome Back!  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!


Girls Volleyball Meeting

There will be a volleyball meeting for any girl interested in trying out for the team this Tuesday at 7:10 in the FEMA Gym.  Tryouts will be January 28,29 and 30.


Tardies/Late to Schools

Tardies and late to schools start over this semester!! BE ON TIME!!!  You only get 3 tardies per class, per semester.  Every tardy after the 3rd one is a write up and a detention from your teachers.  You will get 5 new hall passes for this quarter. Use them wisely.  


CHI and Company

Christy will be here on January 29th during 5th and 6th hours to meet in the gym with the young ladies who are a part of the club.


Exploring program

Read about this new program being offered to all students in 6-8 grades.  The exploring program that we have for co-ed youth 6-8th grade. The program meets once a month after school and each month touches on a difference hands on experience to let kids experiment with different career choices, trade school opportunities, and experiences that will open doors to their future endeavors. We will be holding an open house at 6:00 p.m. on January 15th at 6:00 p.m. at the Technical Career Center (3203 Oak Grove Rd.) where we will kick off the program and have our first activity with focusing on skilled trades!

7th Grade School Improvement Committee

Applications are due Monday, the 14th.  Several of you have submitted a letter, but have not filled out the application.  I need the application to be completed for you to be considered.


Movie for House Ma Luo

All House Ma Luo students will be taken to the theater to see “A Dog’s Way Home” on January 25th.  The only money you will need is for concessions. Coach Sowell has sent home permission slips. They only need to be returned if parents do NOT want you to attend.


St. Jude’s Math a thon Information

NEW THIS YEAR.... HOUSE COMPETITION!!!


* House that brings in the most money for St. Jude will receive an afternoon movie in the gym AND 50 house points!!!

* The academic lab that brings in the most money will get a pizza party

* The winning academic lab TEACHER will get to chose a day to have Mrs. Warren cover your academic lab so YOU CAN TAKE AN HOUR for lunch.  


DATES: Kick off Friday January 25th Deadline for turning in donations Monday February 11th!!!! Winning house and winning academic lab will be announced Tuesday February 12th!!!! Pizza party date/Mrs. Warren covering AL will be arranged with winning teacher! (Thank you Mrs. Warren for covering and allowing the movie party!)

The goal this year is $5,000 dollars!


Cold Weather

We are experiencing brutally cold  and dangerous temperatures. Students must wear appropriate clothing and a coat to school!  If you are in need of any of these items, please let me or the counselors know.


Student ID’s

Students must have their ID’s for lunch and breakfast or they will go to the end of the line.  ID’s are to be worn every day, all day.
