Late to Schools

We are experiencing way too many late to schools lately!  The tardy bell rings at 7:34! Multiple late to schools will result in ISS.

Chi and Company Opportunity

Chi and Company is tickled pink to take 4 lucky girls to the Poplar Bluff Technical Career Center on Tuesday, May 8th from 3:30 pm – 7 pm for an evening of snacks and pampering!  The chosen four will receive a manicure, pedicure and a facial – compliments of Chi & Company and the PBTCC

Want to win?  It’s simple! Write one paragraph on your favorite thing about Chi and Company!  All entries must be submitted by Wednesday, April 11th!  Mrs. Warren will be sending out the Google form to enter!

Winners will be announced at the last Chi & Company meeting of the year, Wednesday, April 25th Chi & Company meeting!

Instagram Kindness Challenge

Students we are asking you to participate in our kindness challenge! Find the Instagram kindness task cards, complete the task and post on Instagram with the #550kind and tag @pbjhs.  

Kindness Week

Our process champions have done a great job organizing Kindness week.  Please join in on the spirit themed days, if you’d like. Students love to see their teachers participating.

• Dream of Kindness [PJ Day (Give a teacher a compliment)]- Monday

• Celebrate Diversity [mismatch (sit by someone that you don’t know at lunch)]- Tues.

• Block out haters [Hat and Shades (Pay a compliment to someone that could use one)]- Wed.

• Mules are KIND! [Wear school colors

Student PD Day

We are working on Student PD Day for May. Last year it was great!  Please make sure you have taken Mrs. Jameson’s survey to let us know what you are interested in for that day.

Open Saturdays for Students

Beginning 4th quarter we will offer a Saturday date right before midterms and a Saturday date right before the quarter ends to any student who would like to come in and work on assignments,  use the wifi, get help from the teachers working, etc.. This will be voluntary and not used as a punishment. Please take advantage of this offer if you have poor grades or missing assignments or just need time and wifi and a device.

MAP Dates

 Communication Arts will test during the week of April 30.  Math will test the week of May 7th and Science the week of May 14.  Please try to make sure you are here during those weeks. Good attendance is very important, especially during testing.

Student PD Day

Student PD day is coming soon! 8th graders know what I’m talking about.  It is a day where students can choose to go to any class they want! We will have everything from cooking to taekwondo.  Be watching for more details coming soon!

Spring Break

Spring Break will begin on Saturday, March 24. Enjoy your time off and we will see you back on Monday, April 2.
