Student Announcements
Poplar Bluff Junior High School
January 29 through February 2, 2018
WELCOME
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Sunday was a great day and made me long for spring and the days of not wearing a coat! I can’t believe it’s already February!
Soccer Information
We are planning on having girls open gym Monday and Wednesday 3-5pm and boys open gym Tuesday and Thursday 3-5pm next week. If the weather permits, we will practice on the main football field. If not, we will practice in the FEMA. Mike and I will try to make sure to let you know that day if we have to practice inside.
Tryouts are still the week of February 5th on the main football field if weather permits. We will have the boys and girls days split.
7th grade Boys Monday 3-5pm
8th grade Boys Tuesday 3-5pm
7th grade Girls Wednesday 3-5pm
8th grade Girls Thursday 3-5pm
Kids interested in playing must have a physical on file by tryouts. They also will need to be sure to bring tennis shoes, cleats, shin guards and socks along with athletic clothes to each open gym/practice.
Girls Volleyball Information
Open gym is on Jan 30th and 31st.
Tryouts are on Feb. 1st, 2nd and 5th.
All practices are from 3:00-5:00.
St. Jude’s Mathathon
The St. Jude’s Mathathon kicks off this week. As a district, we are only $30,000 away from donating 1 million dollars since our involvement started. The top 3 building winners will get to miss school on April 6 to go to the Memphis Zoo. Mrs. Nicolini will have more information for you this week.
9th grade registration
Mrs. Elledge will be in all 8th grade history classes this week to start the process of HS Registration. Make sure you are paying attention, so you are prepared with what you will need to have to get registered.
Mule Shack
On Fridays, our Life Skills students will be working in conjunction with Chartwells to sell their a la carte items. This will include all cookies, ice cream, chips and drinks. Smoothies are coming soon! Students must have cash for these items.
ISS (New Rules)
Hopefully, by now your teachers have all gone over the new ISS rules with you in academic lab. There will be no Chromebooks in ISS. It will be paper/pencil work. If you are sent out of ISS to the office for misbehaving, you will have additional time added or be sent home suspended. Mak
