JROTC ASSEMBLIES (8th grade only)

On Thursday, February 23rd, we will have our high school JROTC team presenting a recruitment assembly for 8th grade students.  This is a great program and many of you will be interested in being a part of this high school elective.  These assemblies will be 4th hour only (4a-4b).

NATIONAL SHOWCASE SCHOOL

Poplar Bluff Junior High has been nominated for a National Showcase School for Capturing Kids’ Hearts. This is due to the great job students and staff do implementing and living the tools of CKH. On Tuesday, February 21st, a team from the Flippen Group will visit our school.  We will ask students to be interviewed by the team during 4B and 5D.  Thank you in advance for your participation!

JH TRACK AND JH SOCCER COMING SOON!

For those 7th and 8th grade young men and women interested in participating in Track or Soccer, our seasons will begin on February 27th.  You must have a completed physical form, proof of insurance, and parental permission to participate.  Take care of this prior to Monday, February 27th! We are looking forward to you guys competing and representing PBJHS well! (Coaches have sign-up sheets for those interested!)

JH SOCCER

There will be an informational meeting for JH Soccer at 7:15 am on Thursday, February 23rd.  The coaches will provide you with information about the upcoming season.  When the coaches arrive, you will move from the upper gym to the old lower gym for your meeting.

EDUCATIONAL TALENT SEARCH

Educational Talent Search students will meet in the library during Academic lab on Wednesday, February 22. Go directly to the library with your backpack. Bring your permission slips for the March field trip.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH

February Student of the Month for P.E. will be honored Thursday, February 23 with a pizza party. Eighth grade students of the month will meet in the library at the beginning of 4th hour. Seventh grade Student of the Month will meet in the library at the beginning of 5th hour. Coaches are invited to attend as well.

JH CHOIR

Our JH choir will be participating in the Dexter Choir festival Tuesday evening February 28th! Represent us well!

SCIENCE FAIR

It is an event in the future, but it will be here sooner than you think! Our Science Fair will be held on Friday, March 10th.  The gym will be used all day and evening for the event. 7th graders...Make us proud!

CARDINAL GAME FOR THE FUNDRAISER

Those of you who qualified for the trip to the Cardinal game later this spring will be glad to know the date is set!  We will watch the Cardinals play the Blue Jays on Thursday, April 27th.  Game time is 12:45.  We will leave PBJHS at approximately 8:00 a.m.
