WELCOME
I hope you had a great weekend! We are down to a few days in the school year and they are packed full of things we have to complete and attend! Please pay attention to announcements and directives so that you do not leave anything undone! Have a great day and week!
MAP TESTING
I challenge each of you to strive to do the best you can on our MAP testing. You will be tested in ELA, Math , and (8th grade) Science. You will be tested by those core teachers! Our expectations are high for you! You are as good or better than any other student in the state of Missouri! Let’s show them what PBJHS is all about!
TEEN LEADERSHIP
The parent meeting for teen leadership will be Tuesday, May 23rd in the upper gym at 6:00 p.m.
PBJHS CAMPUS DAMAGES
We have a small number of students who are not taking pride in the facilities we have at JH. Especially the new restrooms. We have damage to dividers, to soap dispensers, to towel dispensers, and graffiti on some walls. It is a shame to see a handful of students ruining a beautiful facility for the rest of us! This is what self-managing is all about...students can help stop destruction, students have to be a part of stopping bullying, and other unwanted behaviors...THIS IS YOUR SCHOOL! TAKE PRIDE IN IT!
STUDENT BEHAVIOR CHOICES AT THE END OF THE YEAR
I hate to bring this type of information to the whole student body, but it is important to understand. Some may have the thought process that discipline does not carry over through the summer; or maybe at the end of school there is nothing that can be done because summer is here and school is out. THAT IS FAR FROM THE TRUTH! You can be disciplined at the end of this year that carries over into next year. For example, if you were suspended for five days on the last day of school...your suspension isn’t over until the fourth day of the next school year making you ineligible for any summer activities associated with school. MAKE GOOD CHOICES!!!
STUDENT PD DAY REGISTRATION
All students will begin to register online this Tuesday, May 16 for student pd day. Please follow your teacher’s instructions very carefully.
BIG EVENT: SPRING MUSICAL!
Our Spring Musical, “The Music Man,” will be playing in the Kay Porter Theater on Saturday, May 20th at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 21st at 2:30 p.m! Please come out and support our young men and women as they put their talents on stage! I always enjoy watching our kiddos perform in all capacities!
SCHOOL STORE
Mrs. Warren is putting a survey on Schoology about a school store for next year. She needs all 7th graders to look at the survey and submit it this week.
RING DELIVERY
They will be her Wednesday, May 17th to deliver class ring. They have sent postcards to the student who still owe money and the balance they owe. You must have you money with you to pick up your ring on Wednesday during the lunches..
CAPTURING KIDS’ HEARTS
Wow! What an honor! We are a National Showcase School! We have our banner proudly displayed in the front entrance! Great job kiddos! Keep up the great work!
PUBLIC DISPLAYS OF AFFECTION (PDA)
With spring in the air it seems like love is too! However, there is a time and place for all things, and school is not the time or place for any public displays of affection (PDA). This includes girls holding hands with their friends and hugging each other as well. Please keep this in check!
