WELCOME

Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Picture Retakes

Will be October 21st. Students who  want their picture retaken will need to pick up the picture packet in the attendance office. The PE teachers will not have them.

Boys Basketball Tryouts

Anyone wanting to tryout for boy’s basketball will need to have a completed physical for on file  with the covid waiver on it. (Some students  are going to the doctor which is fine, but the forms that are at the doctor do not have a waiver form attached to them) Tryouts will be on Monday, October 19, Tuesday, October 20, & Wednesday, October 21 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Wrestling practice

Jr. High wrestling will begin 10-19 in the lower gym after school. All wrestlers need a complete physical, water, and wrestling shoes. Any questions contact the Head Junior High Coach Dan Beckwith or Asst. Junior High Coach Jeff Mannon.

Pink Out Day Thursday

Thursday is going to be our official Pink Out Day and Pink out Game to close out our football season.  The field will be painted with the breast cancer awareness ribbon, the lifeskills classes are decorating the bleachers and I have purchased pink football socks for every football player.  We will be on Assembly schedule that day and have a fun assembly outside where our staff members will entertain the students with games and performances.  A big thank you to all who have helped organize this!  I’m excited.  We will do house points for the house that has the most participants wearing pink.

House Chants

Thank you for letting me record your house chants last week! I think they turned out great!  Here is the video if you’d like to see it! I also shared it on our PBJHS Facebook/Twitter pages.

PB Virtual Academy

Students who wish to return to school from virtual academy or students who wish to enroll must do so by October 15th.  After October 15th the window closes again until January.

Masks

Please remember if students are wearing masks at school, they will not be contact traced and sent home if they are exposed.  We sent several students home this last week.  If you want to stay at school, please wear a mask!  I have plenty to give out.  Stop by the office to get one.

Quarantined Students

When students are quarantined by the health department, we have a very detailed process for students to stay caught up with their work.

  • An email is immediately sent to all the teachers that are assigned to that student explaining the student has been quarantined and two weeks worth of work must be sent to the office within 48 hours.

  • A school staff member calls and makes contact with the parents to come and pick up the work.  If a student has internet access and a device, teachers are told to make sure all assignments are in Google Classroom.

  • All quarantined students have an opportunity to join tutoring for each subject virtually during their quarantine.

  • Teachers make sure to allow students time to finish any assignments or assessments that they might have missed upon their return.

  • This letter goes home with each parent of a quarantined student explaining the process.

Pumpkin Painting in Labs

Each academic lab will pain a pumpkin. These are due by Oct. 23.  We will have a penny war during lunch shifts from the 26-30.  The pumpkin that wins will get all the money raised donated to their charity!  Get started painting! I can’t wait to see what you come up.

Cooler weather- dress appropriately!

We are still going to be using the stadium bleachers in the morning for students to sit on days when it is not raining.  As the weather is now cooler in the mornings, please bring a jacket or hoodie with you so you aren’t cold.

8th Grade- Meeting in Mrs. Berry's room 124 at 7am! We need to make our recording for convention

7th Grade-7th grade STUCO member list will be posted on Friday October 16th. Thank you for all the applications.
