STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Poplar Bluff Junior High School

March 27 through March 31,  2017

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

WELCOME

I hope you had a great weekend! We are one week into the fourth quarter of school! We are nearing the end of the year and things will be fast and furious.  You need to focus on completing work, making the necessary grades, preparing for tests, and amping up for the MAP test!  You are as good as any other students in the state!  Let’s show them by how well you score on the MAP!  Maximum EFFORT!

MR. SMALLEY ASSEMBLY

On Friday afternoon, we will have Mr. Smalley at PBJHS to present an assembly on the topic of bullying.  He lost his son to suicide due to bullying.  It is a touching assembly.  I expect the behavior in the assembly to be the best.  We will be on our assembly schedule on Friday, March 31.

PROPER CLOTHING

With the increase of warmer days, the potential of shorts or other attire that may not be within the school dress guidelines is coming to the forefront.  It is important to check and make sure shorts and shirts fit the guidelines for school appropriate attire before coming to school! This is for both young men as well as young ladies.

4TH QUARTER HALL PASSES

You have your passes now! USE THEM WISELY!!!!

MANDATORY CHEER LEADING MEETING

Any student interested in trying out for JH cheerleading for the next school year, must attend a mandatory meeting with a parent on March 28 at the HS @ 5:30.

PUBLIC DISPLAYS OF AFFECTION (PDA)

With spring in the air it seems like love is too! However, there is a time and place for all things, and school is not the time or place for any public displays of affection (PDA).  This includes girls holding hands with their friends and hugging each other as well. Please keep this in check!

MORNING RESTROOM AND/OR VENDING MACHINE USE

For your safety and knowing your location for supervision, the gym lobby restroom is available to use before school.  Also, the vending machine in the lobby is for your use prior to dismissal from the gym.  All other bathrooms and vending machines in the building are off limits prior to dismissal from the gym.

CARDINAL GAME FOR THE FUNDRAISER!

Those of you who qualified for the trip to the Cardinal game later this spring will be glad to know the date is set!  We will watch the Cardinals play the Blue Jays on Thursday, April 27th.  Game time is 12:45.  We will leave PBJHS at approximately 8:00 a.m.
